The main efforts of the FSUE "RISDE" are to provide the NIERSC activities within the Project with remote sensing data from the Russian and foreign spacecraft to assess ice conditions in the Arctic.
So FSUE "RISDE" had collected of optical and IR imagery data from the Russian and foreign NOAA and TERRA spacecraft covering field work areas as well as the TARA vessel drift area in order to complement in-situ measurements and to validate algorithms for measurement of ice thickness and other ice cover parameters.
